The American Petroleum Institute (API) recently released revisions to two liquid pipeline leak detection standards to improve operational integrity and operators' ability to respond.

Anchal Liddar, SENIOR vice President, GLOBAL Industry Services, API, said, "Leak detection of liquid pipelines enables operators to quickly respond to incidents and minimize impacts to local communities and the environment.  "API RP 1130 and API RP 1175 are designed to provide pipeline operators with key guidance to play an important role in early and accurate leak detection."

RP 1130 "Computational Monitoring of Liquid Pipelines" and RP 1175 "Pipeline Leak Detection - Project Management" are the second edition of the standard and published at the same time to improve leak detection related capabilities.
